Carol E. Scudder of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 86. She was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Morristown, NJ, the daughter of the late William B. and Anna Carrie Haas Evans. Her husband, Percy M. Scudder preceded her in death. Mrs. Scudder retired after 17 years of service as a dispatcher for the Caroline County Central Alarm in Denton. She also was a bus service driver working for the Denton/Federalsburg Senior Centers. She was a member of the American Red Cross and a member of the Caroline County Bird Club. She was a former member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Company where she served as an EMT. She is survived by seven children, Peggy Bowden of Salisbury, Jean Zimmerman of Fairborn, OH, Bill Scudder of Greensboro, Sue Dunn of Preston, Edna Hanley of Greenwood, DE, John Scudder of Federalsburg, and Joan Powell of Federalsburg; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Dunn officiating. Friends may call at funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the USO, 500 Purple Heart Way, Dover AFB, DE 19902.
