Gary Eugene Long of Hurlock passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was 51. He was born on April 12, 1961 in Fredrick, MD, and grew up in New Windsor, MD, the son of Elizabeth M. Long of Hanover, PA, and the late Robert B. Long. Gary worked for B & G Foods in Hurlock for twenty-two years. He was a member of the Labors Union Local #74 of Washington, D.C. and the American Legion in Hurlock. He loved the beach and enjoyed going camping, golfing, and vacationing with family and friends and especially enjoyed going to Ocean City. Also he loved to go crabbing off his boat on the Choptank River. Gary loved spending time with his kids and taught all of his grandkids how to ride bikes and swim. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ewing Long, his companion of over twenty years, three daughters, Tara E. Morton, and her fiancé, Joseph Diehl, of Harney, MD, April L. Ewing of Hurlock, Ashley D. Ewing and her fiancé, Richard D. Moxley, Jr. of Laurel, DE, a son, Ryan Ewing and his girlfriend, Jenna Adkins of Hurlock, three grandchildren, Kiara A. Morton, Dakota Moxley, Richard D. Moxley, III, a sister, Terry A. Michels and her husband, John of Hanover, PA, two brothers, Jeffrey B. Long and his girlfriend Karen Rice of Ocoee, FL, Kevin T. Long and his fiancée, Donna Harvey of Westminster, MD, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 12:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00.
