Brenda Faye Simms

Brenda Faye Simms, of Wilmington, affectionately known as “Miss Brenda,” passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Delaware Hospice in Milford. She was 65. She was born on May 31, 1950 in Easton, Maryland, the daughter of the late Noble Lee Simms and Mary Eleanora Haynes Simms. Miss Brenda attended Caroline County schools and was employed as an assembler at Service Source in Wilmington. She enjoyed swimming and bowling, as well as shopping, and loved listening to music, especially gospel music. When spending time with family in Seaford, she attended the Clarence Street Church of God and attending various cultural events. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whom she truly adored. During the last eight years, Miss Brenda resided in the Bancroft Homes of Wilmington, DE. She was supported there by staff who cared deeply about her daily care and well being. In addition, she was also supported by her beloved sister Shirley and extended family. She is survived by her five siblings, Russell Simms, of Smyrna,DE; Virgil Simms, of Hurlock, MD; Shirley Woolford, of Seaford, DE; Barbara Stevens, of Smyrna, DE; and Sylvia Ross, and her husband Robert, of Camden, DE; a special friend, Antonio Knotts, of Bear, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by four brothers: Morris Simms, Sr., Claude Simms, Shelton Simms, and Alonzo Simms. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Reverend Willie Jackson and Pastor Kelly Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Federal Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
