Clara Bell Walker

Clara Bell Walker of Preston, Maryland passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at UMMS at Easton. She was 80. She was born on July 24, 1935 in Preston, Maryland the daughter of the late Leroy Holland and Lillian Newcomb Holland. She was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools. On August 29, 1959 she was married to George Walker Sr. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1999. She was a cafeteria worker at Preston Elementary school for many years. Later, she was a domestic worker and a homemaker. She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Holiness Church in Bethlehem. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, shopping, and caring for others. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four children, George Walker, Jr and his companion Lisa Banks of Hurlock, MD, Sharon Walker-Hill and her husband William of Hurlock, Linda Jules and her husband Rodney of Hurlock, and Bryant Walker and his wife Deandra of Hurlock, ten grandchildren, George, III, Terrel, Ryan, LaTasha, Danielle McClain and her husband Irvin, Roderick, Lakisha, Alexander and his wife Jamie Dawson, Bryant Jr., and Jamyra; a special former son-in-law that she loved as a son, Gilbert Dawson, two brothers, Frank Holland and William Holland, her special Dog Abby, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Charles Holland, Leroy Holland, Jr., Willamina Holland, Carol Green and Marie Fletcher. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Greater Mount Zion Holiness Church in Bethlehem. Friends may visit the church from 10:00 to 12:00. Burial will be in the churchyard.
