Alan William Collins

Alan William Collins, known fondly as “Semi” passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at UMSMC at Easton. He was 64. He was born in Salisbury on May 2, 1950, the son of Mary Kathleen “Kay” Collins of Brookview and the late Oliver Harrison Collins, Jr. Alan graduated from North Dorchester High School class of 1968. He had worked at E.I. DuPont in Seaford and his real passion was farming. He was a member of Brookview United Methodist Church, Idlewild Ruritan Club, Ducks Unlimited, VFW Post 5246, Dorchester Co. Farm Bureau, and past member of Eldorado-Brookview Fire Company. His hobbies included, hunting and golfing, and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens and loved NASCAR as well. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Brown Collins, two daughters, Lisa Collins and her fiancée, Mike Nicholas, Jr. of Cambridge, Laura Marshall and her husband, George of Preston, a granddaughter, Peyton Marshall of Preston, two sisters, Mary Alyce Thompson and her husband, Bruce of Hockessin, DE, Joanne Miller and her husband, Kerry of Jamestown, NC, a brother, Dale Collins and his wife Susan of Rhodesdale,MD and several nieces and nephews, and his beloved granddog, Chi-Chi. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Karen Handy officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow at Brookview Cemetery.
