John McGraw Kennedy, formerly of Federalsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Envoy of Denton. He was 92. He was born September 14, 1921 in Williamsburg, MD, the son of the late Daniel T. and Eva Christopher Kennedy. His wife Alice Margaret Bell Kennedy preceded him in death. Mr. Kennedy served his country as a U.S. Army WW II Veteran. He had retired from Southern States Feed Mill after 31 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post #5246 in Federalsburg. He is survived by four children, Betty Elms and Alice Wilson, both of Seaford, DE, John Kennedy of Joppa Towne, MD, and Linda Susan Kennedy of Denton, 10 grandchildren, Pastor Eddie Elms, Hank Elms, Ricky Wilson, Robin Wilson Hixon, John Kennedy, Jr., Cindy Kennedy, Renee Lee, Melinda Kennedy, Tyler Kennedy, and Andrew Kennedy, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters, Gladys Moxey of Hurlock, and Lily Hearne Widener of Durham, NC, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six siblings; Mary Ann Weck, Roland Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy, Bill Kennedy, and Rachel Kennedy Dickerson; and one grandson, David Lee Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Elms officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in East New Market Cemetery, East New Market, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00.
